Thanks (mm), I have always liked blue and it really looks good on the SS and to date I haven't seen another one in blue.

Here is a link for Bill's CobaltSS. He was in the 12's with just his catback exhaust, BSR tune, coolram intake, and drag radials. We won't know untill spring what it will run with his latest mods. To much snow.

don't want to seem bias here, but once again all these tunes seem to be neck and neck, which is good. the only difference is price. i'm not going to go into the rest of it,but so far the gm/hpt tune is only what,10 hp more on the lnf with full bolt ons???

just want to put out there, most of you have spent over the $1000 you said you didn't want to spend with the bsr lol. just pokin with ya'll...we all have one common goal...crush skittles and take down subies and some, not all evo's,well that's my goal.

like me and another member was discussing,at the end of the day,it's still just an hhr lol. having a bone stock car will already give many others a run for the money.

With a good driver it is about 13.9 to 14.1 stock.

Sorry to sound like a jerk but are you reading the same threads as the rest of us? Off the top of my head ADM is pushing 40 something more horse power and 80 more ft pounds of torque and that is GM Stage at the engine vs ADM testing at the wheels.

I think that many here are confusing whp/fwhp vs hp/bhp.

Seems that the GM tune is 290 hp/bhp. So that is 30 more than stock.
The other non warranty tunes are 280ish-290ish whp/fwhp which is probably 335ish hp/bhp. So the aftermarket tunes are 75ish hp over stock. You won't hold a candle to an aftermarket tune if what hahn/adm/etc dyno sheets are correct.

So correct me if I am wrong guys (meaning anyone)

stock 220whp 260hp
GM stage1 246whp 290hp
hahn/adm(this is general guys don't shoot me)
285-307whp 330-360hp
Anything after this will require more air, and the stock turbo cannot provide this.

Before anyone starts shooting this down, i just used a .85 scaler for the whp/hp calculations. If you feel that your hhr ss stock dynoed 260 Whp. Then your hhr ss with all the goodies from hahn/adm/etc should dyno on the same machine under the same conditions should yield darn near 400whp.

Phew. Merry Happy Joyus Safe everything to you all!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

actually bone stock, is anywhere between 240-245ish.

with my tune only i made 262 to the wheels. keep in mind this was with a third gear pull.

now in another thread, adm says he made 332 to the wheels. that includes the whole kitchen sink(gm tune+hpt, exhaust, and intercooler).

in this thread, the cobalt made 322whp with basically the same stuff (add the intake) a lnf is a lnf...doesn't matter which car it's in. that's what i was getting at.

Sorry, yes it seems that if you combine the (aftermarket tunes) with the gm stage 1, an additional 20ish hp is freed up.

So

(hahn/adm/etc) + stage 1 gm= 332 whp/390hp

BTW (hahn/adm/etc) is code for all their specific goodies+their best tunes.

i don't think you can combine the gm with with the hahn/bsr. which it really doesn't bother me...in some applications, you don't even notice the 10whp lol.

The original 3rd party tunes do not take into account the revised scaling for the different TMAP sensors, so that alone is a deal killer. God only knows what else GM changed. All the aftermarket tunes will have to be redeveloped for the new hardware, as ADM is currently doing.

Bear in mind that the reason most of us are paying GM's price for 2 sensors and an ECM flash is to retain warranty protection. A third party tune will void any powertrain portion of the warranty, and the Bosch ECM has nannies that will rat you out when you reflash it. Furthermore, a canned tune will only get you so far safely, if the person who wrote the tune is reputable.

Warranties mean different things to different people. For instance, I obliterated any powertrain warranty on my GTO by adding headers, supercharger, and flashing a completely different operating system into the ECM well before the 3-36 expiration. Since this car is a weekend warrior, it didn't matter to me. I've replaced most of the driveline with sturdier stuff anyhow, and now have a completely different engine in it.

My HHR is a daily driver, so under that circumstance, the warranty is paramount. Those pursuing the "go fast" hobby with their SS may feel differently.
