Hot-side IC Pipe

SInce installing HANN's IC pipes(H+C side) more specifically the Hot-side Pipe, I have noticed that I can hardly hear the turbo spool up, all the power is still there, but since installing this pipe I just can't hear it, is this normal. When I just had the Cold-side pipes on the turbo was really pronounced.

....not to be paranoid but, any chance the by-pass diaphram is screwed, or is the metal pipe muffling the sound? again it was really pronounced until I put on the Hot-side pipe....when I took off stock pipe, I did break vacumn nipple(maybe it was cracked to begin with, and that is what I was hearing?)

Like I said no performance problem, just a sound issue, or lack there of.

Any Ideas?

Yes, I replaced it with HANN's Hot-side pipe. I can still hear the turbo, just not as much.

I was thinking the line from the valve cover to the intake. The connector on the stock intake can break pretty easily.

I'm not sure what exactly you broke.

On the Strock Hot IC Pipe I broke the vacumn nipple off while taking the pipe out. I replaced it with HANN's pipe that has a nipple built in.

What I am experiencing is this. When I first installed the IC pipes, I did the cold(top) side on one day and the Hot(bottom) pipes a few days later. After I did the 3 piece cold(top) pipe, I could really hear the turbo. After I installed the Hot(bottom) pipe I can no longer hear the turbo, eventhough there has been no loss of boost or performance. There is just no spooling whistle....its more like a sucking growl. Thats why I thought there might be an issue with the bypass diaphram.

Should I take it in for a check-up? one day there the next no sound

I understand now. That's actually the cold side that you're talking about. Pre-intercooler is the hotside.

As for the sound difference, it's probably something simple like a boost leak. I had the Hahn intercooler pipes on my car and immediately took them off after seeing how horrible the fitment was. Plus there is no mount for the hotside pipe so it can move around and put more weight on the plastic end tank of the intercooler.

A boost leak I can understand but where? I am no rocket doctor, but i've looked pretty good, and haven't found anything loose, cut, chaffed, etc. The car isn't throwing codes or driving any difirent. the boost meter reads the same, there is just no significant turbo sound. Runs great and has been since I put both sides on, I just noticed no more really pronounced turbo. Is the ecm pulling it back? I'll look under the intake tomorrow(today). It sounded amazing then nothing.****!

It could be any of the couplings you installed. You might be able to hear it at idle as a vacuum leak, but probably not...

In my opinion the coldside isn't worth the trouble to replace. Try putting the stock piece back on if you're worried about it.
