I need help!

MAP-Regulator
MAP-Reg-SSA as shipped
Installed on Left IC Pipe
The MAP sensor reads manifold air pressure. Under most conditions, when pressure exceeds 20psi for 3seconds, the ECM sets an "over-boost" or "MAP sensor malfunction" error code. With this device mounted on the intake manifold, the pressure seen by the MAP sensor can be limited. It consists of an aluminum block, 0-30psi pressure regulator and hoses. Pressure enters the block, is routed out to a pressure regulator, back into the block where the sensor is inserted. We preset it at 17psi - just plug & play. It can be easily removed and replaced when desired.
You may need to increase fuel delivery at wide open throttle via ECM program change to safely increase boost pressure. You can tune your car with HP Tuners software (see fuel and electronics page). You may also need a better flowing intercooler at high boost levels (see our Intercooler page).

That's a map bleed. It's just fooling the map sensor into seeing a lower boost, so you only get fuel up to what the map is now seeing ex 17psi after that no additional fuel from the computer without modding it. Make sure you have plenty of fuel or something is going to break. I own a bunch of Turbo Dodge's and we use the same thing to fool the map to run more then 14.7 pounds of boost. I'm at 18psi on my 86 2.2 with water injection. You can build a bleed for just a few dollars. See http://www.gusmahon.org/html/cutout.htm for an example. Again make sure you have the fuel to do this.
BTW 18psi in a 86 Lebaron K car convertible is just a blast to drive. I can lite the tires up at 45 lol :)

Now was this X1 plug issue due to a GM build problem, or due to the Stage kit install???

It was a factory issue. One of the installers either had to use the restroom or it was quiting time. I had another issue today while doing a roll off punch. The car acted as if it was a detonation problem. I also got a check engine light. This car is killing me!!!
I am finally fixed. After the plug was fixed water some how got on
the #1 coil and caused it to quit. The tech was very cool and I am
glad to be back on the road. She is now flying...... Just ask the 350z
I put a hurting on!

I had the same issue with my car 3 days after I took ownership. Was a different wire in the X1 connector than yours. Id loose AC, cruise, turbo gauge and a few other issuew. Took me a few days to find it. There is a bullitin on that issue.
Odd to see this as when I did my dyno run they told me the stock map with the Stage 1 has the car running way too rich at WOT. I can't see why you would need to add more fuel!
What he meant was the car would only think it was pushing 21#
of boost. My car actually runs 24#, so the car would potentially run lean.
I think I would rather be a little too rich but, I also see your point. I am going to
put a piggy tune on top of my gm tune just as soon as start changing out parts.
