IC piping installation

Can someone give me an overview of what is involved with the installation of aftermarket IC piping. What is the level of difficulty on a scale of 1-10 with ten being most difficult.

I have read in previous threads about owners experiencing a great deal of difficulty with this install. I'm considering the IC piping offered by CIA for my SS.

The hotside piping on a level of 1-10 is like a 2.5

If youre doing the coldside thats like a 3.

As long as you know how to turn a wrench and have some patience you will be all good bud

For comparison, I would say it is easier (and less messy) than changing radiator hoses on a typical car. Much easier if you remove the bodywork. Be sure to orient the clamps so you can get to them with all bodywork in place though in case you need to re-tighten.

You might pick up like up to 5hp due to the fact that youre getting much better airflow

How does that work? I know that they say that HP gains are possible, but wonder how polished steel or aluminum delivers air more effectively than plastic. It must be more than material composition. Are they long radius bends to reduce pressure drop? Or is the diameter larger? Just wondering how they make them less restrictive...

The piping has a consistent diameter that allows the air to move better. The stock pipes have flat spots and kinks in them which constricts air flow.
