installed magnaflow muffler

Thought I would install a magnaflow and get rid of the stock monster muffler. The magmaflow sounds pretty good but not much louder than stock don't know why. Tried a couple different mufflers maybe I should have ordered a borla but then again prolly would have sounded the same. Just thought I would put that out there

Muffler wont do much for you man. It s the downpipe that does the most

What about if I took the resnator off. That would make it louder wouldn't it

Yes it would. But the biggest restriction is the downpipe. get a catted downpipe if youre worried about emissions. The stock DP has 2 cats and is flattened between them

Magna-rumble

Mine is getting louder as time passes (they get blown-out). I have always liked the sound, right from the first time I started it up. It's perfect for me. Deep rumble but not annoying. Thought about putting a header on but dont know if I want to go that loud (& annoying).

You can't put a header on a turbo car, and generally speaking, if you could, it wouldn't help anyhow. Headers loose too much heat and pressure for maximum turbo efficiency.

For turbo cobalts some remove the muffler, weld in a straight pipe and leave the resonator. Sounds pretty good and reduces backpressure.
