even if it makes nothing or little, the longevity of it makes it worth it. I had one on the Z28 for over 8 years. Just watch how you clean and oil them. Do not soak the hell out of it and do let sit for about 1 hour or more after spraying. Then wipe off the residue

Most people clean their KN filters way too frequently. They recomend 50-100Kmi under normal conditions. The filtering efficiency goes up dramatically as dirt accumulates on the cotton fibers. Having said this, people will continue to clean them every few thousand miles because they have convinced themselves they know more about filters than the company who makes them. A freshly cleaned cotton filter lets in a lot of dirt. This is not to mention the hoards of people who over oil them and gunk up their MAF sensor because more is better than less, right? A dirty cotton filter will still outflow a brand new paper filter.

Yep you are right there. Last year I pulled the drop in from the wifes car, it was installed in 2004 so I figured it was due. It was still pink.... Pain to get it out so I cleaned it anyway. But the new recharge kits use a spray bottle verses the dropper bottle, much easier to do now. And give a better even coverage at once verses letting it soak in.

I got mine yesterday for my birthday. I will be installing it this weekend hopefully. Will post a review when I get it on and run a few miles with it.

Thats what I am hoping for. It is scheduled to be here Monday, so I will install it on Wednesday. I will follow up with my impressions after that. I have some baseline track and dyno numbers from spring, and hopefully I will get to the track again before the end of the season to do a comparison.

I have driven about 100 miles since installing this product. So far no complaints. I will be going up to the track tonight so see if it is making any real gains to the tires. My final review of this product will follow soon.

Car broke on the way to the track. The charge pipe mounting stud that is mentioned as being faulty in another thread broke. My review will have to wait.
