K&N intake

I'm really thinking about getting one for my HHR, but when I had one in my cobalt it seemed like that's when all my problems with that car started getting much worse!
I eventually want to get the turbo upgrade also, but I want to start with the intake. So for you guys that have the K&N, does everything still run smooth?
I have a SS btw.

It won't gain you any HP and could potentially cause problems with the MAF sensor down the road. The stock filter really is a good setup with very litle restriction.
What is the reason you want to change it?

My friend is actually talking me into it. Better gas mileage possibly? I'm just worried about running into problems again. Did GM not make an intake for this one? They did for the cobalt...

Since they really did a good job designing the SS intake, I doubt you will see any noticable gains in milage. Even if it did flow better, with the stock tune you wouldn't see any performance gains.

i have one on our 10 hhr ss for over 27,000 miles and no problems yet.
And add a little hp. It is a upgrade tube , filter and bigger lid.

I had just a K&N filter in the stock air box in my first '09 SS for about 30k miles with no issues...
The '09 I now have has a full K&N intake (in the car when I got it).. Car has almost 30k on it 14k of which are mine.. No issues as of yet

I opted to just get the K&N stock replacement, threw a code WITH THE LID OFF but since I put it back on it is running well and is def a little more peppier and you can actually hear the intake and turbo now.

I dont see the reason to spend 269$ for the KIT when it is literally the same as the stock setup. Now what I do want to do (IS IT POSSIBLE,CANT GET AN ANSWER TO THIS) is run the stock intake w/K&N filter with the LID OFF, sounds MUCH better and again more air!
