"Moon" Read the fine print....Dummy!

Guess Ill be testing out the K&N/AEM air filter for a Cobalt tomorrow.
Ordered a turbo diverter valve from ModernAuto, and while I was at it, ending up ordering a K&N/AEM air filter for a Injen intake for a Cobalt[without reading what it was really for]. Both arrived this afternoon.
Looking at the filter,[a little shorter, but a lot bigger around than a stock filer] I tried to fit it anyway. Well it fits the intake neck, but won't go down far enough to fit in stock airbox, without grinding a slot in the bottom of the airbox. I'll fab it up tomorrow[read: make it work], and we'll see how it goes. Sucker plenty big, so should flow everything the turbo can handle, no problem. With my fabbed CAI, it should get plenty of cool air from the hood scoop, for sure.
After CAI install, ran around without the filter for a day or so,so I know it does'nt throw codes. Also it's a dry flow filter, never needs oiling.
Guess, in this case, I was'nt the sharpest tool in the shed, when I ordered.DUH! "Moon"

Doneno.. Got dark before I could do anything with the filter or the valve.
Looks like I don't have much room to do the valve. Could be a PITA. Let u know soon. "Moon"

If you bought the Forge diverter valve, it's an easy install. Took me 45 minutes to do. Most of that time was wrestling the stock airbox out of the way, once that's done the rest is cake.

I wish! Just lifted up the plastic cover behind the firewall, and leaned over and in, to put it on. Still drew blood, couple of spots, and next day felt like I'd gone to a hachet fight with a dull pocket knife. Both calfs felt like I'd been hit by a fast freight, from leaning over on my tippy toes. Finally gotter done, and still above ground, so all's good. "Moon"
