You can also PM Moonsign (I think he's in NorCal though?) as he's in your side of the country and had the GMTU done w/ no problems that I recall reading about here.

Moonsign here.
I did'nt do stage 1. I went with Trifecta, and I like it much better than I would have with stage 1. Drove a stage 1, and was'nt all that impressed.
Around here, your warranty is about as good as tits on a bull.

So a Trifecta can be put over the stage 1 without GM noticing?

You can revert back to stock stage 1 at will? Then go back to Trifecta after dealership visit?

G.M. that's what Trifecta refers to as their "hide-a-tune" option. You can set it up to go on when you press, say, the CC button and the tune's active. turn the CC button off and you're back to 'stock' GMTU status.

I have the hide a tune, but before I go to a dealer, I'd just replace the trifecta with the stock tune. I have a netbook and it takes about 10 minutes.

Then when the warranty work is done go back and install the trifecta.

But, if you have any questions call vince and ask him. He seems to really know his stuff.

Regardless, if I was starting fresh, I'd never done the gm hack upgrade, just done a trifecta and probably saved myself a dozen trips to the dealer.

IMO

So you purchased the EZ cable? That sounds perfect!

mountain view chevy or mark chris but its in the IE. i never had a problem with those 2 dealers. here in san diego i went to bob something by the 8fwy, the service lady called me a few days later asking what modification i did to the hhr and that they see that i have installed an aftermarket radio..... its not aftermarket but a stock radio.

that there made leery of goin back, I have read a few reviews in yelp and so far san diego is sucking on dealership for warranty/work.
