If you got the cash I'm thinking this mod for everything, would be in the 35k range. We have a mono frame so maybe dropping the body over an S10 frame, might be the easiest route. If and when, and its a big if, I am gonna look for a totaled Camaro for engine, suspension, etc. Hell now that I think about it maybe the v6 will be a better option.

For 35k I could get a used c6 zo6 that's alot to go Rwd.

Yeah, but a zo6 is a zo6. I would much rather try and shoehorn all this crap in an hhr, wouldn't be one of a kind, but one of a very few. Don't get me wrong, if I had 70k I would drive the zo6, while the hhr was down to the bone, and then the hhr would only see cloudless days, and car shows. Btw, congrats on the win. Now, no offense Chevy, but if my pockets were really really deep, I would throw the whole thing over a ford gt. But that's for people who light their cigars with 50's

I'd take a used Z06, and keep some of that $35K for my tire budget. Vette tires are also not for those with small wallets...

Those cars are just so awesome that you'd be hard-pressed to equal them even for $35K and a used HHR. Things like weight distribution, and the multiple modes of stability and traction control are all well-engineered and reliable.

35k?????? Lol, get some sheetmetal and a welder. Tunnel the HHR, turn the stock suspension into a two-link for a rear-end, find/build an old 350 with a good 700R4. You could do it under 5k easy
