Open downpipe opinions

My friend is fabbing up a side dump exhaust for me, but I'm growing impatient. I know the power pros for running an open catless dp, but can anyone tell me about the noise/heat and gases under the car? It's a daily driver and it would be open for about a month until I get the straight pipe finished.

I wouldnt. You wouldnt even know if you were about to die. My pipe stops before the rear muffler and after 10min of idle you get dizzy in the back seat. Go to autozone n get cheap pipes n clamps if ya cant wait. Otherwise risk death. And to top it off, might sound weird.
I plan on having a muffler dump behind pass side tire.

Catless downpipe and no muffler 3in side pipes on both sides. Also I had a cutout and never had exhaust come into the car.

You'll lose torque, & why do this to a DD.
You won't like it.

Lose torque with less restriction on the turbo? I shouldn't say DD either. I'm a truck driver. The car only runs two days every two weeks. And to be honest I just want the wagon to be a little more of a head turner. The sleeper was fun for a while, but I want the "holy sh**, that hhr has some balls" if you have any opinion on the rigjt way to go, I appreciate it

There are better ways to get balls on a HHR-SS than being stupid and gassing either youself or a passenger. Tune it, mod it all you want, but spent gases in the passenger compartment, ain't the way to go. "Moon"

That's not the issue at hand. Its not an open dp anymore, I got the exhaust done and installed a while ago. Now I'm just wondering about the loss of toque with a straight pipe. Everything I've ever heard and read always points to the less restrictions on the turbo the better.
