I love the upgrade which I've had since the end of december. But has anyone notice a difference in the boost levels after the break fix was installed? I had mind completed yesterday and I feel like the stage upgrade effect is less. Is this possible and is there a way you tell if you still have all your tune. I was boosting to over 20 (sometimes 23) now only ~18. On acceleration before the just before the downshift I was boosting about 12 now only ~10. The weather is damp but warmer 45 degrees and I have driver about 50 mile since break pump was added It seems more than stock. Is my mind playing tricks?

Unless they did something with the new programing the pump has nothing to do with engine boost.

My just be weather or mind conditions.

The pump just pulls vaccum from the booster and should not effect engine function. the unkown is the program download but I am unsure if there is any reason for them to change that.

That is what I was wondering about the reprogram with the bits for the tune and the new bits for the pump addition. Is there a user visible way of telling you have the tune installed in your program besides boost over 20. This would also be useful if you ever resell the car - not that I ever, ever plan to. The stickers could be added to a car and passed off as upgraded.

There is a specific tune for a 2008 HHR SS Automatic with a Vacuum Brake fix. It is calibration p/n 12632388. If you got the fix and they put in the non-upgrade kit calibration you would have set code#P2227 at the second time you started the car. If you did not set this code you have the correct calibration.

Excellent, Thank you very much More_Torque_More_HP. That puts my mind at rest. You have done a outstanding job with this car. It absolutly the most fun auto I have ever owned.

Here's a question: Could they download the wrong program for the car? Mine has the upgrade and they are having problems with the brake fix. I don't know what codes it is setting. The service writer seemed to think that with the VIN number in the system, it would not let them download the wrong program.

I am not sure whether or not the system will allow the wrong program to be downloaded. Because the Upgrade Kit is a separate down load (which gets recorded to the VIN) it may be possible ( I don't know but will research and report back) if you went in for the brake fix after the upgrade to possibly get the wrong program. If the wrong program was down loaded in this situation you would set the P2227 code on the 2nd key-up.

Only code that has ever come up on several occasions is P0101. Just have the GM Tune and a drop in K&N. This boost cut-out or lack of boost happened once pre-tune. Since the kit install it happens on a regular basis. Example: I'll be on the interstate doing 75mph, drop it to I(yes I have the Auto, the wife can't drive stick), mash the pedal and hit 18psi climbing past 20psi at this time I'm doing 100mph so i let off. If I try it again a few miles later i can only get maybe 12-15psi basically stock levels. Then I'll exit the freeway and from a stop mash it again and I'm back to tune levels of 20psi. Then at the next stop light I may only hit 8psi, too much variance and fluctuation for me to be happy, more annoyed than anything. And I don't want to take it back to the dealer that said that my K&N filter was causing the problem and would void my warranty on a new replacement MAF sensor. It seems to be hit or miss how much boost I'll get. During the spring install I did notice a lot of oil residue in the bottom elbow of the piping? I just want some damn consistency.......do you think upgrading the piping would fix this problem?
