Hey mattastic you are getting the same boost I have with the stg 1 we are waiting on parts to fix it now it is difficult for even the dealer to get it in right, If I had it to do over I'd just do trifecta. If you boost more than 20 you will need to switch out the plactic parts that could break.Hot side pipe and intercooler are a couple of them. Some here are boosting well over 25. Enjoy your rocket wagon.

The GM upgrade kit will hit 23 in some parts of the country and the tube will hold it. You do need to check if they are tight.

While some have had dealer install issues most work fine. Also if you do have an issue the dealer will fix it. If you have a warranty it is something to keep in mind. If no warranty then have at it.

I recomend the Ecotec performance book from GM they list what each part of the engine will take. Pistons are the first thing that need changed at 400 HP. The real issue is the tranny would more than not break before them.

I say get rid of the superchips tune cus its trash.... And with the K&N intake get a custom tune if you want your car to run right...

I have to agree with Bart, get your SS tuned with either Vince at Trifecta or a competent tuner that has HP Tuners. Without it your long term fuel trims are going to be ridiculously out of whack running ANY type of aftermarket air filter or the K&N intake system, trust me.

Sorry to burst your bubble, but a 60 HP gain[260 to 320], is not possible, with a Superchips tune. It's a canned tune for the masses, and it's a mild tune. Maybe feels a lot better, but nowhere near that kinda gain.
Dump the superchips and get a good tune that works better, otherwise you're just stroking yourself. "Moon"

^^^You may see up to 280whp and maybe 320wtq with the superchips and these numbers are on the high side. Superchips and other "canned" tunes are only model specific not car specific. They have only tuned one car with a mild tune, in the conditions in which the tune was developed. Canned tunes often show KR or knock retard...timing that is pulled by the ecu to prevent knock.....a NO BUENO thing to have on these cars. A custom tune utilizes your car with your modifications with your weather, altitude, etc., and can be as mild or agressive as you would like it to be and a good tuner will make sure there is no KR. With a custom tune through Trifecta Performance or by using HP Tuners you can get in the 325hp and 375tq range pretty easily with supporting mods. The superchips is not going to get you over proly the 280 mark no matter what else you do. Also the addition of an intake requires a custom tune to see its full potential and to even out your fuel trims. Our engines take a MAF reading in the intake tube...any change in airflow +/- is going to change this MAF reading. When the reading is changed it needs to be accounted for or your air/fuel ratio is going to be off. Long term fuel trims (ltft) and short term fuel trims (stft) will inevitably change effecting your a/f ratio, fuel economy, among other things. Probably not enough to make a huge difference or cause any damage but nevertheless. Now that things have been explained a little for you....keep it if you like it or opt for something else....its your car, do what makes you happy
