Question on Liftless Shifting

Can someone explain "lift less shifting" to me?
I have a '09 SS Panel 5 speed manual.

You can shift without lifting your right foot from the floor - should you desire to do so.

Make sure your engine's fully warmed up, and you don't miss getting it into the next gear, though. It won't hit hit the rev limiter under no-lift conditions, but it CAN if you miss 3rd gear, for example, and leave it in neutral for a sec...

(don't ask how I learned this, please).
