Stage 1...how much psi?
 

So I had the stage 1 upgrade installed yesterday along with upper motor mount and transmission stop mounts. I am not sure if the stage 1 is operating to full potential. No matter what I do I can not seem to boost over 18psi and after some reading found other forum members have quoted much higher psi numbers. Sould I take it back to the dealer or is this normal? Thanks in advance for any insight.

By the way I love the mounts! There is noticable vibration at idle but well worth it.

18's good, 15 to 21 depending on temp, alt, humidity,

Yeah when it gets warmer your psi will go up.

Boost pressure is related to how much air enthalphy can be dissipated (amount of heat energy present in a given volume of air). On cool mornings, air molecules are already condensing and your air/fuel mixture is optimized, so you will not see a positive gain on the gauge, but you will feel it in pressure on your backside against the seat. Additionally, air pressure (sea level) is another factor. Also, humidity adds to air density, and the more humidity, the more air enthalpy (again enthalpy is heat energy, which is what intercoolers circumvent). So never assume that the gauge will always be at a constant. Pegging the pedal under the same physical circumstances, but with varying atmospheric circumstances, I have personally seen "boost compensation" between 16PSI and 23PSI. I can almost "feel" what the gauge will read even before taking the car out for a Sunday morning ride.

Like thay said it will vary.

In WI you should have no issue hitting 20-23 PSI. The 23 is under the right conditions
Here in Ohio even in the cold I can hit 20 PSI any time.

15 and 18 PSI can be had not even at WOT.

Something might be wrong with mine but I hit 24- 26 psi. LOL

some one must have snuck in there and tuned yours . The only time My hit 24 was after putting the IC and Hot side on. Soon as I turned it off the computer learned it back to 20. It is way easier to hit 20 with the new stuff.:smile: But it's the stg1 tune that is holding it back.
