But I was only charged 2 hours labor for the install and had a free loaner.

I have put 15,000+ miles on the upgrade but funny you should mention how its going within the last month I have started to have Boost/limp mode problems. The car has thrown the P0236 code 3 times. I have boost surging issues also but only now and then. Its been in the shop 1 time so far and they cleared the code but my issue comes and goes. So at that point when it was at the dealer (Sat over night) it was running to spec. I wanted to get it back there this week but I'm going on vacation for the next 2 weeks so I have to wait. I thinking of getting a ODBII logger to capture the surging/hesitation around 1.4-2.4 lb boost point. I beginning to think it only happens when I get lower on gas, 99% load on the engine and the AC on. If the car sits over night all is well the next morning. I had limp mode twice once boost would only go to 0 lbs and once it would only go to 4.7 lbs. These come and goes issues are the worst to get fixed.

They used the crimp connectors right?
I saw in some other threads that soldering those connectors that had been crimped resolved their issues.

I have an appointment in Newberg, NY for Thursday morning for 2.0 hours labor.
Hartford is almost 2 hours closer so 4 hours less driving is looking pretty good.
The local dealers are on crack so I'll drive where I need to to get it done right.
No problems so far Mowgli...Al

I wouldn't be selling it.

93 Eclipse GSX that was great until I added a front mount intercooler.
It's been nothing but a PITA since then.
It's part of the reason I decided to get a new car.
I wrenched on it more than drove it and I don't even drag race anymore.
I like to drive, not wrench (check my sig).

About 10 years ago I had a 90 TSI AWD that was a bad-ass scary lil lovetoy.
I gave it the super side mount & hard UIC/LIC piping all from Dejon Tool.
It had all the porting done that could be.
14b, 2G exhaust man, 2.5" Buscher SS mandrel bent exhaust.
19PSI daily driver.
I used to scare the **** out of my self on a daily basis.

I drove it all over the country and it was 100% reliable.
See my avatar.
That was next to a 500' drop-off in Estes Park Colorado.

The one I have now is not that car in any way shape or form.

P0236 code

P0236 code I would check you wiring to the TMAP sensor in the intercooler to throttle body pipe. One of you crimps might have come loose or you have a wire rub happening somewhere.

P0236 - Engine Cranking
The ECM detects when the engine is cranking that the boost pressure sensor signal plus a calibrated threshold is not within range of a model derived from the BARO sensor, the MAP sensor, and the boost pressure sensor for more than 2 seconds.

P0236 - Engine Idling
• The ECM detects when the engine is idling that the boost pressure sensor signal is less than 50 kPa for greater than 4 seconds continuously, or 50 seconds cumulative.

OR

• The ECM detects when the engine is idling that the boost pressure sensor signal plus a calibrated threshold is not within range of the BARO sensor for greater than 4 seconds continuously, or 50 seconds cumulative.

I have a 2008 HHR SS Manual stage 1 with 8500 miles and it randomly drops back to the "safe" mode. Max boost 5 lbs. I have to shut the engine down for a couple of minutes and then it goes back to the stage 1 programing upon restarting. I am again taking it back to the dealer on Monday. Are you still having problems????

Thanks More_Torque_More_HP for the Information. I just returned from vacation tonight (Visiting Disneys GM Test track) and tomorrow will call to make an appointment. I will bring in this info so hopefully this gives them areas to look.

Well the Stage kit's in!! I didn't have TOO many chances on the drive to work to "test it out". It's definitely got much more punch (went from 80 to 110 without even noticing ). Gengras Chevrolet in Hartford, CT were very gracious (Ask for the tech named Chris to do the install if you go there). The only thing I noticed was that the boost gauge didn't go past 16 psi but I'll withhold commentary on that until I've driven it a few miles and drive it in competitive mode too.
