Guys,I am a Parts Manager for a Chevy dealer. I would say 5 out of 10 parts we order daily go on backorder. Its worse now than ever before sue to the state of GM right now. GM is not paying their suppliers on time. I am always leery of their "expexted" shipping dates. I'd be surprised if it really is available by April....

We just ordered a kit for a 2009 today. According to GM the kits are now released for installs for 2009s as of yesterday. They also stated they released 40 kits today for delivery to dealers and 170 kits would be released by the end of next week.

But as gmdealerguy states, It's getting real hard to believe anything GM parts says, since everything we order that is not in a local warehouse instantly goes on backorder.

I head the same thing at the dealer yesterday when I picked my HHR up after the vacuum pump install.

I fear chapter 11 is getting closer. If so it could put a slow down or stop to things like these kits.

08 and 09 are the same kit. So if you have one on backorder you may see it by next week or sooner.

I have a arrival date of 3/10 but I was also told by the supplier round 3/21 about two weeks ago.

I will post as soon as mine hits the door.

For the first time since I've ordered, Tom from crateenginedepot.com hasn't gotten back to me about when I might see my kit shipped (ordered 1/20/09). That doesn't give me much hope. Normally I've seen a response time anywhere from 15 minutes to a few hours from my e-mail to a response (great customer service, btw), so I'm kinda wondering now. Nothing against him and the company/dealership, I know it's out of his/their hands, I'd just like to get my stuff so I can get it in the car.
