stage one chip
I ordered a Manufacturer: Superchips SC-2865-HHR
SuperChips Flashpaq for 08 - 09 Chevy HHR SS 2.0L Turbo
What's do you guys think of this. I'm kind of getting cold feet. The garage I'm using says the program can be put back to stock, if the car has problems and won't harm the GM warranty.
He also says it comes preprogammed with my vin.# so it's not returnable.
If I do one of these "kits" is that all I need to do. I don't want to have to do any other upgrades..ie. Exhaust, or Cold Air ..ect. I just thought that this would be a no fuss way to go faster.
Thanks, for any thoughts...Marylandmike

Get your money back from Superchips and- if you're worried about warranty issues- simply get the GMTU. The MAIN point of advice is to have it installed by a competent tech at the dealer. Buy the kit at Crateenginedepot.com then do your homework (or search here) for the best dealer in your area that can install it correctly. Once done, enjoy the SS!

welcome to the forums. i'm not going to beat around the bush with ya and i'm not being rude, but superchips is garbage and so is the gm tune. do a search,it will cause you more headache. trifecta or hp tuners. if you are worried about warranty...LEAVE THE CAR STOCK.

I did the GM tune and am very happy with it. Totally transformed the vehicle. Went with a known dealer (Rockenbach) and have had no problems. Are there better tunes for pure performance, probably, but I still have my warranty and no questions asked if something goes wrong. Not sure how/why you can call that tune garbage. I realize there are some that have had problems, but for the rest of us who want a sizable increase in power with warranty intact, it's the best $750 you can spend IMHO.........

I totally agree with Mightymouse.
The GM tune is highly overrated, and extremly pricey, for what you are getting, not to mention problems[depending on which dealer does the install].
For $750.00, you can get a Trifecta tune, no problems, more power, and still have money left over for other stuff. Dealer can't tell it's tuned, already had that checked.
If your worried about warranty, then don't mess with it. Most dealers, your warranty is'nt worth a flip anyway. If they spot any aftermarker\t parts on your car, they can void you right there[not all but most dealers]. Been there, done that.
