trifecta tune ?

just wondering how its working in the real world....if Tom is still here....just been away with a move and 2 months without the "NET". And yes, I have made the perfect screwdriver, and am relaxed and back.

I have had no bad reports, just smiles. Tuning more than just HHR's.

IMO when it comes to mail order tunes. BE SPECIFIC to what you have done and make sure the car is mechanically perfect.

I have had this happen multiple times getting overly rich (overly safe) tunes that wash down cyl walls and leads to engine failure.

Go with companies that have specific exp. with the car you want to have tuned.

Trifecta Tunes only GM products and owns a HHR SS for their R&D.

Like said, be aware of what your buying, FYI I've seen well reputed companies blow up cars, AND I have seen customers GIVE Misinformation due to unrealistic expectations.

Could go either way but the best advice that can be had is be honest of expectations and how the engine will be run.

I.E.

Don't ask for a tune 100 hp Nitrous Jetting and then go to the throw in 150-200 and expect it not to blow up.

i had my 2.2 cobalt ls turbo tuned by trifecta...and its not just a basic email tune...the file gets custom tuned to your vehicle...he does data logging and fine tunes your file specifically for your car. im actually looking at getting the stealth tune for the hhr from my buddy who is also a vendor

Yes, thats called a "Street Tune" Thats for Driveability which is something that is important.

I am talking mail ordered. Which is a Ball Park tune.

We got Vendors/Gurus all over the place that do that. IMO the best tune is a Dynotune when it comes to ANY power adder car. When it comes to my 2.2L HHR I would consider mail order again but it would be for a basic clean up of the fuel maps, re-arranging the TQ Management, removing/reducing WOT shut down (traction control or whatever they call it on the NON-ABS Models), and adjusting for basic bolt ons (intake, exhaust) as the car may not get much more.

This is sound advice, but take it for what you will.

with trifecta you can also do a dynotune...and send him the datalogs and files from the dyno via email and he will correct for maximum power

That is not the same but I hear what your saying.

Like said, when tuning a car, the actual atmosphere, temp, humidity, effect what happens and these variations can certainly effect a car. The extreme example is tuning cars in Atco NJ and then someone who as a car in Denver Co. Two completely different atmoshpheres and when dealing with power adder cars. (i.e. Turbo, Supercharger, Nitrous) tuning is critical.

Having work with a local speed shop that had the Fastest LSX based Nitrous record, that even dyno tuning the car in the winter (winter vs summer), when the car was raced/driven in the heat it blew up, due to what you can push in a tune given the colder weather.

When tuning a car for those who do not know. It often breaks down to WOT (Wide Open Throttle) tuning and Part Throttle Tuning. Sounds like all that has been talked about is Part Throttle.

This has nothing to do with the Company/Sponsor mentioned. This is real information about the majority of tuners out there and that for uninformed and the inexperienced, it is as much the tuner's responsibility as it is the car owner to make sure information is clear and expectations are set.

Take Trifecta out of conversation and I think it will make more sense.
