2.2L In SoCal? FREE exhaust!
2.2L In SoCal? FREE exhaust!
I just got a call from Gibson this morning and they need a 2.2L HHR for prototyping a new cat-back exhaust. If you are in the SoCal area and can spare your HHR for a few days (2-3 max). Shoot me an email and I'll put you in touch.
BONUS: If they use your HHR for prototyping, not only will you be helping ALL future HHR owners - but Gibson will give you a FREE exhaust after they are complaeted.
Once again - this is for 2.2L HHR's only!
Thanks!

As a 2.4 owner with the Gibson installed, let me tell you: It's sooooo worth it! I'm sure Gibson will take good care of your car while it's in their facility, ask Mike, he's given up his own ride on several occasions to major manufacturers.

road trip!
road trip!
Hey, CJ - make it a "business trip" - I have a Mercedes I need some door dings taken out of. Bring your PDR stuff and write off the gas!
At least you'd have a place to stay free...

Okay, little info update!!!
Craig and Steve, both from Gibson, called me today. It seems there's a bit of a problem with communications out there, a minor snafu, if you will.
It turns out that the exhaust that Gibson has on the market now IS FOR A 2.2 liter, vice the 2.4 liter.
It turns out the system is not universal, as originally believed, and that the two engines differ minutely in their respective exhaust mounts. They will be contacting with more pertinant info soon, as soon as they get a 2.4 liter in-house to mock up a new system, that will be engineered to fit both engine types.
A note about these guys at Gibson Performance. The two gentlemen that contacted me today are real pros. Looking at a series of photos I provided of my install, they diagnosed some minor problems due to the incompatibilities between my engine and their exhaust. Absolutely upfront, and with a candor you wouldn't get if they were just some guys hocking their wares. These fellas were engineers trying to solve a problem, and they're gonna' do it, if determination has anything to do with it!
