2010 Crankshaft reluctor wheel

Hello from Las Vegas.

My machine shop contacted me to help with an error they made. They failed to document the part number on the reluctor/phaser ring on a 2010 2.2 HHR crankshaft. They remove them when hot tanking. Evidently they did a few dozen and are trying to correct their mistake(s). I was able to clear up the 2.4 and some other 2.2 cranks by looking at my own stock (I use a paint marker w all pertinent info on each). Anyway, I believe the 2.2 2010 (2009-2011 actually) uses the ring with 12589348 stamped on it. And if memory serves me correctly, the 2.4 also uses that same ring those years.

I asked why they simply couldn't use process of elimination after I gave them so many positive matches and learned that when they have a crankshaft that is beyond repair, they still save the ring. So they have far more rings than they have crankshafts.

So if anyone has one laying around they can reference, please post.

I guess a parts book is too difficult to navigate.
My secret friend at GoOgle told me that 12589348 fits 2007 Cobalt 2.2. Also fits 2010 Buick Regal 2.0. So my guess is it fits all Ecotec after they changed the The ignition timing scheme.

Here are the technical specs for 2010 2.2

Thanks for the info. It has the correct number of teeth. I have learned the hard way once before. I will never build another engine without being certain the ring is correct.

The build is more of a clean up of the garage. I work from home and don't have a lot of space. I decided to build all my core short blocks to combine crankshafts, rod, pistons, etc. in a safer more efficient way. The majority of my rebuilds in last 18 months are the direct injection 2.4 engines for the Equinox and Terrain SUVs. All my 2.2 and 2.4 non-direct injection parts are collecting dust. So I decided to get them all machined and build and store them. So if anyone needs a short block or complete engine, let me know. I have the above mentioned 2.2 short block (4 new pistons, piston rings, refurbished rods, main bearings, rod bearings, ground/polished crankshaft, water pump, rear timing set, rear main seal). Also have a complete 2.2 engine oil pan to valve cover that will fit: 2002-2005 Cavalier 2005-2006 Cobalt 2006 HHR 2004-2006 Malibu 2002-2004 Alero 2002-2005 Grand Am 2002-2005 Sunfire 2005-2006 Pursuit/G5 2000-2004 Saturn L Series 2003-2006 Saturn Ion 2002-2007 Saturn Vue. And I have 2 of the 2.2 short blocks that fit the above listed applications. I have several core cylinder heads that I can get to the machine shop if anyone wants a complete engine, not just a short block.

You should make classified ads for these. Most people looking for an engine won't look here in this thread about a reluctor wheel.
