2010 Panel Supercharging 5 Speed LAP 2.2

Well I bought a supercharger and a bunch of other parts for 300 dollars so here goes the build for my panel with the 2.2 LAP motor.

Parts I have: (all for $300)

1. Eaton M62 Supercharger
2. LSJ tensioner and idler pulley (i think i need a new pulley for the mount)
3. LSJ intake manifold
4. LSJ Throttle body
5. Cobalt SS heat exchanger
6. fill tube for the heat exchanger
7. intake manifold bracket (necessary?)

Parts I need: (anyone can chime in if I miss something...still figuring it out)

1. Injectors (EV6 60#)
2. 3.1 pulley
3. Stage 2 belt
4. Exhaust (plan is for a stock Cobalt SS header with zzp 2.5 downpipe and zzp 2.5 exhaust)
5. new clutch (most likely going with a KY from turbo tech)
6. gaskets and bolts
7. spark plugs

I live in Michigan so I plan on taking my car to ZZP for them to tune it. (2.5 hours away)

I have talked with a few guys on here about the build but if anyone has any suggestions by all means post away. I will get some pics up soon of what I have.

You did well picking up those parts. If you had passed on them I was gonna nab them as spares.

Hard to get the SC alone for that price. Congrats.

Are you installing everything then trailering to ZZP?

For number two: did you mean pulley/not puller? If so is the bearing spun?

Your exhaust restriction will be the stock lsj header, but it is an upgrade and can be had for really cheap.

Consider this:

Badmab header/ZZP 2.5" catted downpipe/Stock cat back exhaust
ZZP Midlength header/stock cat back exhaust

The stock cat back will flow your end hp no problem. If its a nice exhaust sound you're after, an after market header/downpipe will change the sound drastically. I found that a full exhaust (header back) was too loud for my liking. ZZP catback, even with the resonator is very loud. Also I'd consider installing your exhaust parts first to see what you think of the sound. They should work fine for your stock tune.

Also:

Wideband O2 for tuning. Order your downpipe with an extra bung for O2. Prob install that before SC as well. Lots of widebands available. I used the AEM. zzp sells that too.

freek..edit made

will a stock cat back exhaust of a LNF cobalt?

other than being cheaper...any benefit to a cat less dp?

yes i will be trailering to zzp

I just emailed zzp to see if they needed a wide band to tune it

Cobalt cat backs will fit on the hhr, but they need a hanger cut off the muffler and the tip will stick out past the rear fascia. So you'll end up minus 1 hanger holding up the exhaust unless you weld another on and the tip will surely need to be shortened and welded. Before zzp made the hhr catback I ordered an LSJ/LE5 cobalt catback and had to make those modifications. Not worth it unless its cheap. I know the LSJ/LE5 catbacks will work, but not sure on the LNF. I think catbacks will add the most noise and least hp gain. One thing I forgot to mention is the exhaust is not super loud outside with a full exhaust its just that it resonates so bad inside the hhr especially at the cruising rpms...you just drone yourself to death.

Up to you on the cat. Without it your car will be substantially louder. If I had to guess on hp gain I'd say it'd be under 3hp vs highflow. I do not have a cat in my Solstice right now, but being its turbo, even with a 3" exhaust its less than half as loud as my hhr was.

The lnf catback has a 3 bolt flange, all others are 2 bolt, so won't fit.
