2011 Chevy HHR (ZZP S/C kit)
2011 Chevy HHR (ZZP S/C kit)
I have a 2011 Chevy HHR 2.2L LT, and I was just curious if you can easily install the supercharger kit from ZZP (for the cobalt originally) if not what are some options to give this ride a little more power. By all means I know this car is not going to be a speed racer but it could use a push! Is a trifecta PCM tune worth the$$?
Welcome to the site.
There is a whole lot of info here on the ZZP supercharger, including some How-to info - same with the trifecta tune. Just use the SEARCH tool at the top of the page and do a search for both of them. And be prepared for a whole lot of reading. :)

Thank you!
I can't give any advice on the install of the kit...I'm sure if you have the tools and are familiar with these sort of things that it can be done in a weekend. I can definitely say after this past weekend that it is definitely worth the money! The power difference between a factory 2.2 or 2.4 vs the Cobalt with the SC is night and day. I was really surprised how much power the supercharged Cobalt has. If I ever get a few extra thousand dollars I may just have to do this upgrade myself!
As cheap as you can buy an SS now...I'd skip the hassle.... and just buy one.
Here's a good example...this one is rare to boot, they only made 200 of these, less than the SS panel.

I say Supercharge it. It may not be the easiset, and definitely not easier than buying a SS, but it's different. That's what I go for. I have the Blower, Manifold, and a few more bits nd pieces sitting in my living room, waiting on the rest so I can put it all on.
From what I've learned from reading and talking to CJ, these things are screamers with a S/C. Going with the rule of thumb that 1lb of boost = about 10hp, and the factory pulley on the m62 making around 8lbs, a 2.2 5spd should be putting down about 210whp with just the S/C. CJ was putting down 256whp and 313wtq on a 2.2 auto. By the time I'm done with mine, I plan/hope to be making around 300whp
SS Fan, we've been over this, for those of us that already own a LS/LT, if we put in what a SS costs, we could walk all over a factory SS.
