boost

i am new to HHR's and to the site(so go easy on me )
but what i have been reading looks like there is no room for the 2.2l ecotec GM S/C? i have a j-body with a ecotec engine and i love it. but it is getting alot of miles on it, and i was thinking of getting a HHR but i would like to boost it also.
if anyone can help me on this it would be great..

and i also see there is no header for the HHR is that correct?

on my j-body i have KN short ram air intake, and a fully exhuast. and would like to do the same if i get a HHR/ with a S/C ofcourse

thanks all.

There is no factory 2.2 S/C engine, it's a 2.0. According to one of our members who measured up the 2.0 S/C engine it should just drop in the HHR. Of course the HHR has a header, do you mean an aftermarket header?

yes after market i'm sorry i didn't add more information in.

i know there is a 2.2l ecotec GM SC kit out, but was wondering if it would work on the HHR.

yes hahn racecraft does make a ecotec turbo kit for the j-body ecotecs, but i don't think it will work with the HHR (i could be wrong) but i am asking if the GM SC for the 2.2l ecotec would work on the HHR.
i don't know much about the newer ecotec engines, i think they have a different throttle control. again i'm not sure.
i am just wondering if anyone has looked into or ask if the GM SC for the 2.2l ecotec (which was made for the j-bodys) would work on the HHR.

I have the GM Sport Compact Performance Build Book #88958646 that gives you all the how to`s, but only for the motor. the computer and tuning will have to be done at the dealer, with no real mention of the HHR motor . Book was $16.19 w/tax at local dealer. check GM perf. Web site for nearest dealer and see if you can get over the counter.

Looked into it. I think there will be an interference with the radiator.

Dealer said they could reprogram the stock 5 speed HHR with a boosted 5 speed cobalt flash. But they said it has never been done.

And it will work in theory.

ooooh...That word "Theory" can be a nasty word at times in the automotive industry. Theory is sometimes followed by KAAABOOOOOOMM!!
