Engine mod

I've searched Ebay for "HHR" and seen these performance mod chips or modules that claim increased HP and fuel enconomy (some only claim HP).

I was just wondering if anyone here has used these and what results you got from them?

Thanks.

This was one of many that I was looking at...

I just wonder if it's worth it or not.

I think this "more HP and better mileage" stuff is ineffective at best and at worst will screw up the car's computer.I would stay away from it.

Wow. They hooked a rheostat up to the resistor and put it in a pretty box. No wonder it's better than it's other ebay competitors. If you actually bought that you would be a fool.

Yup, like the others say, it is wise to stay away from these type of products, especially on ebay. Ebay is a scammer's paradise. Thousands of new crooks each day. It is truly a "Whack a mole" situation for law enforcement and the internet.

Remember, these HHRs are not hypos. They are essentially grocery getter though wee really do not want to admit it. I think with all the mods know at present that actually work, we can get maybe ten extra horses. I'm hearing that some of the performance chipping options really do help. I have the CGS intake and had the IMCO muffler. Both add a lot more noise than I really want for the slightly added four horses. I do seem to get a bit more MPG with just the intake, but am thinking it will go soon and I'll go back to stock.

I'm happy with the HHR I have as being essentially a nonperformance vehicle.
When the turbo SS type is marketed, then THAT is a different story.
My wife will not be happy when I rep0ort that we have to get that one!

Thanks for the help guys.
I'll pass on the junk then. Besides, I'm currently getting 32-34mpg and loving it. I don't have to have the extra HP, but if it was available, then I might go for it.

32-34 is what I get to but to be fair 95% of my driving is highway miles. Keep it between 65-75 on the highway and those #'s are easy to get

Yeah they are , I got 33 ½ on a camping trip fully loaded and cruise was set at 72 all the way - 60 miles. Only long trip so far, but it was a good check of mileage .
