Gasping CGS

I'm not sure if it's my CGS or the IMCO Muffler... but sometimes when i turn the engine off .... I hear a .... "gassssspppppp" light sounding... sorta like a 'ppppppppffff' any ideas?

Mine does the same thing.....I just figured that it probabally always did "it" but with that huge air box on there it just muffled it a whole lot better....Just a theory, nothing to back it up........Regards

I heard that on mine when I first put it on...but don't recall hearing it lately. It could be breathing a sigh of relief that it's getting a rest after the driver kept putting their foot into it. I know I sure did when mine was new.

Seriously...haven't heard anything lately...but now that I think about it, I don't think I've heard it since I put in the Outlaw filter. Not sure if that's related to it...but it could be.

All after market intakes make this sound when shutting the engine off. What you are hearing is not bad. Every car I ever put an intake on made this sound. It's really loud on higher compression cars. Never did find the answer to why it made this sound but its like the engine is releasing the last bit of vaccuum from the engine through the intake, or taking in a little more air at the end to make sure the exhaust gasses are completely out of the engine. Its a mystery to me. But sounds very cool.
