Intake

I've had many comments on three different forums about what is the best for the money when it comes to improving performane at the intake: a high performance filter, a high performance filter and runner pipe, and a full new intake box system. I'm leaning toward the filter only. What is the best for the money?

For the money, I'd say get a K&N OEM replacement filter. They're only about $40, unless you don't already have the cleaner and oil.

It should actually save you money in the long run.

Changed to the K & N filter last weekend. No noticable increase in economy but sure feels a bit peppier at the higher end!

It's not too hard to FAB your own. I just made this from JY parts.
From a truck intake hose to a plastic elbow to an inverted Vibrant Cone filter.

In the pic, where your oil cap is.. unscrew that long stem , and place your oil cap in its place on the valve cover...

How did you attach the MAF? Have you thrown any codes, or is the MAF properly located. Without checking it looks like it's in the right place.

I used screws.
Ya, it's cheap as cheap can be but it was experimental.
It did throw a code haven't read it yet but put stock back for now and it went away.
Thought the MAF shouldn't be on that corner maybe?
Might put a straight stretch in there and try again before going to dealer to read code.
