intake question

Ok I'm new to the HHR thing. I hope some of you can help me I have the 2.2L and for some reson the intakes only work on the 2.4L not the 2.2 is this true. and I'm wondering why. I really want a intake I don't really want big company as long as I get one and it works well. I been hearing bad things about the AIRAID.

To tell you the truth, at least the truth as I see it, unless you just really want to get rid of the box on top of the motor, the factory intake is pretty good. It pulls fresh air from the wheel well and isn't very restrictive. If you are thinking about this strictly for performance, you may want to try just switching to a K&N or similar filter first.

This all being said, I'm using a CGS and like it. Most others are using the K&N and some are happy with the airiad. Not many choices for the HHR.

The K&N intake is only for the 2.4L the only thing from K&N for the 2.2L is the drop in filter. I'm looking for the deeper sound and performance.

The deeper sound will be with any of the intakes.

You will hear a LOT of opinions on the performance. Do a search and you'll see there are as many opinions as there members here.

I have a K&N factory replacement filter and I think it sounds a little louder. I didn't notice much, if any, performance gain. I just got it mainly since I had the cleaner and oil already.

The CGS will fit on the 2.2 with just a little tweak of the support bracket.
