okay while there is not hahn turbo kit right now im thinkin some nitrous. andbefore ne one asks yes i used the search function. so who has put nitrous on your hhr. what did you use. im looking at a NOS sniper system, http://store.summitracing.com/partde...5&autoview=sku, would this work. looks to be what i need minus the window switch/rpm limiter, purge valve, exhaust tube. who has done this and what did you do, do you have pics. im just lookin for a 35-50 shot. ive been reading that for every 50 hp you juice you want to retard timing 2 degrees. so im thinking the 35ish shot. thanks all for your imput

I've got a ZEX set up now. Ran a 50 shot for a while and bumped it up to a 75 shot. LOTS of fun. I like the ZEX because I don't have to push a button for the shot, is sences wot and shoots. I just have to open the bottle, remote opener a MUST imo, and arm it.

The 50 shot dyno'd at 40 hp, the 75 goave me 60hp.

Pics/thread are around here somewhere.

the same way with that sniper system. what did you use to sense WOT. no linkage under the hood because of drive by wire. did you stick the microswitch under the gaspedal?

4 & 6 Cylinder Nitrous System
Part #82021
A complete "Wet" nitrous system. Everything is included for a safe, proper installation.

• Designed to work safely on stock type engines, but is also engineered to perform flawlessly on highly modified turbocharged and supercharged combinations. The ideal nitrous system for any fuel injected vehicle.

• All major components are factory pre-assembled inside the "Nitrous Management Unit". Easy, plug and play, two-hour installation.

• ZEX Nitrous Systems have an advanced, patented feature called "Active Fuel Control". This feature monitors nitrous bottle pressure and adds or subtracts enrichment fuel so the engine never runs too rich, or too lean, when you engage the nitrous system.

ZEX "Wet" nitrous systems activate at wide-open throttle using advanced electronics that monitor your engine's throttle position sensor. This makes using your nitrous system very easy and reliable.

im going to go with NOS or NX, ive heard too many bad things about ZEX at the local performance shop. im going to run a 75 shot because thats wut the ecotec build book states is the max on stock internals. these will be upgraded when the hahn turbo kit comes out. the stock con rods are only good below 250hp. along with new pistons making it able to go up to 300 hp also dropping the compression to somewhere around 9.8:1

That's the way it goes, around here (St. Louis), ZEX is the preferred system. I only know of one other HHR that has a nitrous set-up and they haven't been around for a year or so. they also had a ZEX system.

reading on the ecotec forum. NOS and NX seem to be the preferred system. my buddy can get me a great price on the NOS system so when i get the money that will be the system i use. Im just going to throw a 75 shot on along with premium when i plan on squirting and a one step colder plug.

Do not have had nitrous on a 4 cyl. but on my Camaro I bouhght a used NOS plate kit (cheater 150-250) it worked fine but when Zex brought out there perimeter plate . I bought just the plate and used it with the NOS system and picked up almost 1/2 sec. and 2 mph in the 1/4 . I go with Zex but thats just me . Was thinking of putting a little sqirt on Hollie .
