Question Performance novice with a shiny new toy!

Hi all,
I just bought a 2007 LT1 2.2L about two weeks ago as my second car ever, first was a 94 Corsica that i got 3 years ago for free w/ only 64k miles on it. needless to say i had no intentions of trying to do anything with the ol' rust-bucket so my experience in the performance tuning world is a bit limited.
So far ive been changing things around solely for fuel economy bumps, as of last night ive installed:
-Magnaflow cat-back exhaust
-Jet Power-flo MAF
-Jet stage 1 performance module (chips dont exist until 2008 it seemed)
-Weapon-R Dragon ram air intake.

what else could ya'll recommend that would help my MPG?
or at the very least up my power without sacrificing MPG?
any replies at all are appreciated, i think i provided all the info you'd need but ask me to clarify anything if not.

Well, those Jet products didn't do much, if anything. Nothing after 1996 have "chips" all OBDII is programming. Piggyback system mostly adjust timing. Which the PCM will try and correct back.

Welcome to the site. I have a 2.4 ...I put a K&N intake and a Trifecta tune which helps a lot....but if you want a real performer.... buy an SS period.

Do you know if anyone has some dyno numbers after these modifications? Everyone says Trifecta tunes are great.

You can always supercharge or turbo these things, SS power lower price. But outside of intake and exhaust theres not much left. Zzperformance has a header and downpipe package. The number 1 mod i can think of is sticky tires, powers useless unless you can put it to the ground. Also trifecta may be cheaper but i had a terrible experience with them, it took over a month to get my tune and it ran like crap, better off with a real dyno tune.

Never dyno'd anything , just had better acceleration and sounds cool too. It's still a slug compared to the SS, but supercharging to 250hp is close to a stock auto SS, I just am not up to that mod. I think the blocks are completely different. Keep an eye on A&P's supercharge thread.

Well I guess your wallet got lighter so therefore you car should accelerate a little bit faster.

Nah 100.00 bills are light. I carry a couple hundred pounds of samples around, probably why i needed the tune.

I was considering turbo or super (I'd rather super only because my friends car had a hell of a time fixing the lag) but from what I've seen they don't make em for 07's of my trim. I wondered if maybe it could be a transferable thing. Anyone have a definite yes or no for me?
