Pictures of intakes?

Anyone got any pictures of some custom intakes, Not looking to spend 200 bucks on an intake when I can make for 50.

Also what are a couple good ways to up the power a little bit on my car. I figured intake, Exhaust at some point. But question is are there any restrictive spots in the exhaust that would hinder the power.

How about a "Tune"

here's mine. i didn't notice any performance gains, but it does sound better and looks kinda cool too. plus changing the filter only takes about a minute. https://www.chevyhhr.net/gallery/fil.../edelbrock.jpg

Just curious what did you do about the mass air flow sensor. Where and how did you mount it. that seems to be my only problem at this point.

i used a GM weld on MAF receptacle, but its made out of aluminum, and the intake pipe is steel, so i just bolted it on. no issues, and CEL. if you do run it without a MAF it will get a CEL and it'll shift real hard.

Heres a couple of pics of my setup. The filter is a cone type that sits in the inner fender behind the driver's side headlight, like the Cobalt SS/SC. Got to credit Joe R. and CJ from family.net for the idea. Attachment 30600

@HHRNole.............. What did you use for the MAF adapter air tube and what diameter is the tube?

HHRNole 08-05-2010 10:03 PM

I cut the tube off the stock airbox which I believe is 2 1/2". The flex tube 3" is reduced with a Specture reducer. Spectre also makes a MAF kit, with different size inserts. Don't want to go bigger than 2 1/2 on the MAF for the proper air flow. Too big and you throw codes.

Greybeard999 08-05-2010 10:19 PM

That's what I had read about larger tubes throwing codes, and I was thinking about cutting the stock intake for the MAF tube.... thank you for the clarification :thumb:
