Rev limiter

Is there another way to reset the rev limiter so it doesn't shut down other than the jet chips? Its really anoying while racing and your starting to pull away and the car shuts down!

on autos with 2.2 just put trans shifter in I mode, leave it there and floor it governor will be gone, til wind resistance stops you round 115 or u get scared. dont know if it works on 2.4 engines, think they may have a higer gov.

The governor is set by the tires you have on your car. LS cobalts come with S rated tires (112 mph max) which is why they are governed to 110 mph. The LT's come with H rated tires (130 mph max) so they are governed to 120 mph. I reprogrammed my LS with the LT tire size program. I'm not certain but I think the same can be done on the HHR.

2.2 cobalts and hhrs are governed to 106 -108. then they snap like a puppy on a leash, put the auto trans in I range it keeps it in third gear and wall -LA the gov is gone,WHO NEEDS A CHIP i know this works in all hhrs ,but only in some cobalts, 2.4 engines do have a higher gov, and i dont know if I trick works on these, wonder if gm knows this. SS HUSH.

Yes it does. The gov is only slightly higer on the 2.4, only to about 110-112. In "I" gear, I've taken Dory to 120!

quick question, do you have to start in "I" gear or can you shift to it while driving.

You can shift to it while moving at lower speeds.
I assume that it wont go into a gear thats out of range at higher speeds, but Ill let you make sure.
