Spark plugs

Hey i have a question about my 2.2. It is acting real sluggish and has around 110,000 miles and i believe its the original AC Delco plugs that are still in the car. It literally has very limited acceleration power and also the fuel economy is decreasing as well. Is the plugs all i need to worry about?

Spark plugs fall under the 100k mile maintenance, so like Tyler said, its a good place to start. Go with the ac delco OEM replacements. I've heard from a few people on here that anything else can cause issues with the motor not running right and throwing codes.

While you are doing the plugs, check and change the air filter as necessary.

I actually had my spark plugs changed this morning at 103000 miles and this is what the old one's looked like. Keep in mind i just changed my plugs because i knew it was time not because of any performance problem. I am getting about 28mpg consistently. I did my plugs, air filter, some fuel system treatment, i wonder if my mileage is going to even get better. They look pretty scary too me.

Clean your throttle body also. You'll need to take it off to do it proper like. And disconnect the battery because when you put it back on it will likely throw a code otherwise.
