Turbo kit or S/C Kit?

I usually swap 3800 v6 engines in my projects but this HHR I want to have less work in. It will be a daily driver and I want a little more go :). The HHR is a 2006 2.2l. I have been looking for a kit that doesn't require as much fab work. I can tune the PCM or can run MS ecu. I just need to know what to get and where to get it. I have no experience with this engine or the HHR so forgive my noobness. I'm very familiar with S/C setups and primarily on the 3800 power cars. I'm well experienced with tuning the MSIII ECU's, so I'm not completely inexperienced . Any help is much appreciated!

,
Jason

aboard

i have done 3- 2.2 HHRs that i have added the M62 to them
there is no such thing as a complete kit for turbo or s/c on an 06 2.2 but they are getting better
words of warning for both turbo or s/c
1. do no go any more than stock pullet or 8 to 10 lbs boost
2. i would make sure on the s/c that the spark plugs are plug and play and there is a better heat exchanger out there than the one in the kit
3. cold air intakes on those kits suck- the one i made worked great and had no tuning issues. it was reasonable in cost and it went behing drivers headlight so it meant it was a pain to fust go anead
4. Vince at Trifecta is the only person that can tune a 06 2.2 HHR for both the turbo and the s/c and the s/c is allot easier to tune
5. If you want more then 10 lbs boost on an 06 HHR you have to put a 2007 2.2 bottom half the 2006 cams up top half of the engine to make it work. allot of work but worth it

Thanks for the replies. I wouldn't want more then 10psi just want to wake it up a little :)
I've been looking and find decent prices for the 2.0 turbo LNF. My next question would be this, has anyone done a engine swap from 2.2 to 2.0 Turbo? I'm no stranger to swapping engines, especially ones not made for the car they are going into. Just curious how much work and what may be required.

The 2.2 to 2.0 turbo been discussed many times, but I don't think anyone has done a straight swap. Waaay to many things have to be swapped for it to be feasible.
From all the electronics, down to the front bumper swap so you can get an intercooler in there, it just would be a logistical nightmare.
Everything from the downpipe to the trans(on a 5 speed) and a bunch of other stuff is different between the 2.

Might pass on that swap then, I want this thing running with in a reasonable time frame. What about the 2.2l to a 2.0 LSJ S/C engine like in a 2006 Cobalt?

I recently purchased a the M62 off of a LSJ 'Balt to put on mine. Still need a bunch of stuff, but I hope to have it supercharged within a year or so.
