why doesnt...

The two engines are two different animals. The 2.4L has variable valve timing and a different engine block & valve cover, making it hard to design an intake that will fit both properly.
The CGS intake will fit with a slight modification, but K&N's unit only fits the 2.4L engine.
Hope this helps you understand why...

Well, I just got back from meeting with eat_world, he has an '07 2.2, hopefully he'll be able to post pictures later, but the valve cover is nearly identical to our 2.4. I'm thinking that the 07' 2.2's may fit the intakes that were previously designed specifically for the 2.4.
We need pic's from '07 2.2 owners to help confirm this.

well right now i don't know where the camera is and its too darn cold to be pulling off the air cleaner, but yeah i think that the CGS should be able to the fit the 07 2.2. Hey SoCalHHR if you wanna send me one and i'll see if it its i'd be more than happy to check for you .
