Which would give the best increase?

A header or the 2.4 intake manifold swap? I did my income tax return and part of it is going to increase HP. I already have the GMPP intake kit and a magnaflow exhaust. I am now trying to figue out which would be better and if it is the header which brand? Any suggestions?

Do both at the same time more air in needs more exhaust out.

Lessee..the intake doesn't really kick in till higher rpms..the header works through most of the range....the hp gains are about the same....tough one
Sell it and get an SS with the Stage 1!

A header would be the better choice (you have a cat back) the 2.4 intake makes hp but at higher rpms and you lose some low end lb-ft. I have not installed a 2.4 intake on a hhr yet but have on several cobalts and it hurt the bottom end power on the 2 auto ones. (these cars were not tuned)

Get a Trifecta tune!!

That will make more difference than intake and exhaust combined.

do what gto mike did with his stock manifold. or if you dont have the time get the gm performance extruded honed manifold. that way you dont have to worry about fit and tighteneing the bolts once in a while
