2.2 head on a 2.4 block

What do I need to do to make the wiring harness work for the 2.2 head

Is the 2.2 head from a later-model 2.2 that had VVT?

The 2.2 from an ‘09,10 or 11 will fit, however there’s not much of a gain in , well , anything.
I know the old SBC trick of 305 heads on a 350 block, as the 305 heads had larger valves.
I believe the SBF trick was 351 Windsor heads in a 302 block
I’m sure many other combos.
is this a matter of you have s 2.2 head?

His bio shows that it's a 2006 "colbalt" ss. I would suggest asking over at the CobaltSS forum.

The 305 would raise combustion ratio because of chamber volume, but they had smaller valves.

It’s so long ago , I got the valves mixed up.

Yep, raise in the C/R. Also putting a 283 crank into a 327 would get ya a 302 hi-winder, as de-stroking it reduces stroke swept volume allowing it to rev to 7K.. Aka Z-28

Wasn’t that the set up, using 327 camel back heads? I recall 2.02 and 1.81 valve sizes.
I could Google it , but that was nearly 50 years ago.
It makes me feel older , but not necessarily wiser!

Yes those were the Hot heads to have. Also used on the "Fuelies" too.

I can relate to the older part, & the other.

I was playing with 440 big block Dodges then.
