Is this typical with these kinds of mods?
What model HHR you rolling in?
It has a CGS intake and a Magnaflow muffler only. Not the cat back system. I averaged 26/27 in town before and 30ish on the highway. Just filled up this morning and got 29 intown. I was a little shocked at the 40 on the highway myself. I think the average is about 35 or so now. Don't forget, it is lowered. Most people think this is for looks only, but it does help out in the drag department. Last three vehicles, two were trucks, all were lowered and all got better mileage afterwards. I also learned the other day that keeping you vehicle clean and waxed helps drag too. They claimed 7% better mileage, but I think they are over estimating a little. Besides it just looks better clean

No sweat. I was looking to see if I could see a little better Fuel econ- Not that it's BAD. I came from a 5.3L Vortec to my 2.4L Ecotec and really like the fact that I'm not staring at the fuel gauge heading toward E as I drive.

I'm cautiously looking at Intake and exhaust as something I may be interested in, But still want to see if these types of results are typical or should i expect much less. So far, The Bang for buck exchange isn't good enough for me to drop the kind of money wanted for some of these mods right now. Maybe when the car is paid off, likely not sooner than that.

Anyone else have any stories of improved Gas mileage after modding the intake/exhaust?

Well got my Magnaflow on Weds and installed Today (Sat) Love the way it sounds, its obviously going to have little "Rice Rocket" to it since its a 4 banger but it has a Deep tone at the same time.

Im Happy!!

True. If you get a chance reset your ecu. Unplug wait about 5 min. replug and idle for about 5 min. then take out for a test. Around 2000 rpm to full then back down a few times. Good if you can get out on the highway for a few pulls too.

I was able to reset the ECU. I wasn't able to get out on the Highway. However i was able to get it up between 2-4k. It was raining so i didn't want to drive it like i stole it.

Gas Mileage is up about 1.5mpg I do about 60/40 On my daily trip. HP Number's not sure of, it does have a little more torque steer. I'll have a better idea on actual mpg gain on my Road Trip this weekend.
