airaid fit problem

airaid fit problem

just put it on today and everthing went well. Except with the weather strip installed the hood doesn't close correctly (really tight). Anyone have his problem is there ideas I should try? Let me know.

That's been the main complaint about the airaid.

yeah but does anyone have a fix? I wonder what airaid has to say?

It is supposed to create a seal with the hood. So I don't think there is a fix.

I took the rubber off and made a little slid with 2 straws and tape, closed hood, it pushed down the two straws, looked at how much room there was and cut down the rubber to fit, cut with a razor knife. about 1/16" longer so as to sit tight to under hood pad. Also made a front lip to go to the grill over rad.with thin sheet metal

thanks oneton i'll have to do that. sounds like a good fix also for the front also. I'll post up later to let you'll know how this goes.
