Anyone tried a performance mod chip?

Like a Hypertech or anything? I've read the thread with people who have gone in and had their computers flashed... 2.4L here.

I also installed the Jet 1 PCM about a year ago. Minor help on MPG, and also on performance. I have 2.4 L as well. I also added the B & M shifter (for auto trans) and it helped a lot more. Supposed to save wear and tear on the tranny and changes the shift points (there are 2 settings for it as well). It really helps the acceleration! A little tricky to wire in but worth it. With either mod, be sure to disconnect the -ve post at the battery in the back, wait 10 - 15 secs and tap 3 times on terminal with cable before re-connecting. This will reset the computer for you too.

See this thread for some info.

Trifecta Performance can tune your HHR without changing or removing your ECM and PCM for those with Automatic trans.

I have a custom tune 2.4 auto in my HHR
Check out my ChevyHHRWorld Tune Center for more info.

We Installed the Jet Performance PCM and MAS at about the 5,000 Mile Mark! If it made any "Gains" in performance I am not impressed ! I think that the CGS CAI and Magna Flow Catback Exhaust are more of a Performance Upgrade than the two Jet Performance products we installed! We will be removing these sometime early 2009 and going with a custom tune, not sure if HP or Trifecta ?

Check pricing, You should see that the Trifecta tune will be less cost. For you driving to Trifecta Performance in Duvall would cost the same as a shipped tuner, Just tell him ChevyHHRWorld told you. There is a link to Trifecta on my Tune Center web site.
