Question Coolant Temp Question?

Hello All,

Just curious what people usually see for coolant temps?

I was browsing around here yesterday, and found somewhere that said the coolant temps should be around 190-195, however, I can't find the thread that I was reading anymore (doh!)

I'm experiencing 180-183 it seems, just want to make sure that's a good thing or not...

That's usually what I get. I think the highest I ever saw it was 190. I was concerned at first because my Lumina and truck both get quite hotter, but apparently that's normal for an HHR.

My 2.4 runs around 190-195 here in Florida with 95 outside and AC on in the car. In cooler temps ie 70s, it runs 186 and no AC. It will get up to 216 with no AC and stopped in traffic with no AC, then the fan kicks on and temp drops back to 195.

Yeah, I'm sure it makes quite a difference where you live, and the weather. That's probably why mine isn't very high, since Michigan can't afford summer this year due to lack of funding...

Well this sounds fine then! :)

I was concerned at first because I kept waiting for my coolant temp to get a little higher, but it seems to be happy right around 180-183 so far...That's with it being 80-90 degrees outside and with my A/C on.

We haven't had extremely hot weather yet this year in MD...nothing like last year, so I'm still waiting, but I think my new HHR is fine :-D Yay!
