Both of Gibson's HHR cat-backs use a resonator and a muffler.

I thought I saw a How To for installing the exhaust system somewhere on this forum. Is it as straight forward as it looks? The SoCal page says installation is 1 hour or less, so it must be pretty simple.

Yeah the Gibson is about an hour or so..
If you happen to have a high speed cutter, such as a dremo tool with cut off wheel that will speed the process when you have to make a incision cut in the stock exhaust to remove it..
Make a cut in front of the rear axle....

Must it be cut? I was hoping to keep it intact.

It will be difficult to remove it from the vehicle without being cut..

Very difficult indeed; unless you pulled the whole rear axle bar out! :eek:

Cutting it is no big problem really. It will make it easier to transport, easier to store, and if you ever want to reinstall it, any muffler shop can weld it back together for you - it's quite simple.

Mine went into the trash imediately, and was taken to the dump via trash truck in the next following days...
