GMPP HHR Intake - Cold Air
friscorider, you will love the intake. :) I love mine.
saltyfishguy, i believe the instructions (or somewhere on this forum) says that you just blow the filter out with air. If you have an air compressor (or a LOT of compressed air cans) it should not be a difficult thing to do.

Update: in case I forgot to mention it, buy some 6mm hex head bolts before you start the installation. The regular Phillips head bolts look nice, but you cannot get a screwdriver on the back right one due to the overhang from the wiper surround plastic. The hex head allows you to tighten with no problems. Hope this helps someone.
Also, I took a freeway drive this weekend, and the car is no noisier at cruise at 75mph than it was before. I did notice that the mileage on the car goes down in the rain. Odd.
God Bless, Marc

Hi Chadpuska, Thanks for the tip, and it makes sense that you'd need to flush the dust out of the pores in the paper. Just like a vaccuum cleaner filter. This is the first time I've had "Elvis" out on the road, so I don't have much to compare it too. The traffic was awful this weekend too, so the cruise was pretty useless. I did notice that the miles-per-gallon went down in heavy rain....like at least 3 mpg. Makes me wonder if the traction control was monkeying around. I also noticed that my car, at 70mph, drops a straight 2 miles-per-gallon when I hit the air conditioning button. God Bless, Marc
well I have some different things done to mine, GMPP exhaust also, so maybe that combination helps mine. Also one thing i have noticed to help your mileage is do a full sythetic oil change and use premium gas. i get right around 35 mpg highway and 29 city. also if you get some heat resistance tape from like summit racing, and line the bottom of the CAI box, it will keep the heat out of the box. in return giving you better mileage and hp since the air will be cooler.
It does suck, but at least I feel like I have a little more control over the shift points.
Its actually pretty easy because you only have to push the button on the shifter to get into the lower gears, but you can just move the lever up to change into the upper gears. Kind of like an autostick.
