I wonder what took so long? Aside from the physical design of the intercooler tubing, is there really any difference in the Cobalt/Solstice systems that would make tuning the system so difficult on the HHR?

I'm pulling for ya, Mike. Hopefully they didn't hack things up so badly you can't easily put it back to stock if they don't get it done.

I'm at the shop again. It looks like the boost is going to top out ~10-11. This should work out to about 250whp. Just a few mods like upgraded valve springs should get me to 280-300. Not bad for a HHR that started at ~143whp; ~200whp with a 75 shot of nitrous.

It'd be interesting to compare the cost of the mods, including your time without the vehicle and travel expenses, to the cost of upgrading to an SS. Of course, in your situation you'd already performed extensive body and paint mods on the existing car, so the cost of replicating those would also have to be factored in.

8-11 lbs. isn't a whole lot of boost on the stock rods, crank, and fuel system.

Glad to see you got it home without any problems. Now you can run with the SS's!
