Beware...........Reports of another K&N upgrade throwing "traction warning" has just been reported by Karen. Nemo's only been sporting the K&N for just a month.

Air intakes

Hi fellow HHR people, I have installed the GMPP intake on my 2.4L and I am very pleased with the look and performance of this item. GM did a great job on this one. The install was simple and I have yet to see a TC code from it (10k miles since install). Since the origional install I have added a catback Magnaflow (because I plan to add headers) and have sold off my old exausts. I have also had a pcm upgrade to increase performance and fuel efficiency and allow me to burn regular instead of premium fuel. To make long story short I have mannaged to get my HHR to get 37.4 MPG on the highway (only when I can keep it under 70MPH, above that all bets are off). I get an average of 31.6MPG., but Ill qualify this with the statement that about 90% of my driving is highway and backroads (45MPH or so). I am trying to get to the 40MPG mark without resorting to hypermiler methods. I have also been interested in the acitone additive that upgrades fule octain. If anyone that can add to this I would be happy to hear from. If you would like ton see a photo of the GMPP cold air intake check out the HHRitage.com web site and you can see my sunburst orange HHR with the hood up, Plus a bunch of other neet HHRs that put mine to shame. THE SHOW WAS GREAT!!! I hope to see this thread run longer and see what we can do as a group to maximize MPG on this great automobile. Thanks

acetone will eat away at your fuel system. try it if you must but if acetone was the secret to gas mileage you would see it in every gas station and auto parts store.

I also have recent.y installed the GMPP intake along with a Magnaflow Catback this past weekend. Before these Mods i was getting about 24mpg. After the Install and resetting of the ECU i have been getting around 26mpg.

Avg Speed is around 40 with about 40% Highway Driving. Im going out of town this weekend so im very interested to see what i can get on the Highway. Take in mind i also have 1700 Miles only.
