I like Magnaflows, so I'm not surprised I like it. It sounds nice, but not so nice that the cops will all want to come check it out, either. That's a good thing!

I know on 8s it sounds great but how bout a hhr

The gm performance exhaust for the cobalt is made by borla, so its possible the hhr one is also. There is a youtube clip, search for "hhr gmpp exhaust"
to me it sounds similar, maybe bit deeper.

There is a clip of a Borla catback on youtube.

No noticeable power gain just a little sound. May have it dyno'd and tuned to try and get the most out of it.

My muffler is 5"x8"x18" and magnaflow doesn't list any individual mufflers over 14".

So my guess is no, but one 4" smaller would probably be a little louder/more hear-able.
