PCMforless

Has anybody had any experience with these? I am just looking into it to improve MPG and add a lil pep to the 2.4. I have never done anything like this so I am looking for advise or someone that has done it. Here is a link to the one I found.

They are good people who know what they are doing.

Been there and visited with Alvin, the owner. They are in the heart of NASCAR country and tune a lot of the team peoples cars.

Not personally, but I'm hoping to pull the trigger in spring. Lots folks over at Trailvoy.com swear by them for tunes on Trailblazers and Envoys.

Next question, should I do an intake with this and should I do it before or will it matter that much if I add it after the tune?

I only live about 2 hours from them. I wonder if I drove down if I could just swap the PCM on the spot? Anyone know if it is just a warehouse of if they actually do work there?

PCMForLess is a good company. Honestly I would make a custom tune the last thing you do. Get intake/headers/exhaust first... then get a tune.

But with a tune its cheaper, yet can provide better results.

From what I have been reading, CAI, Exhaust, etc, can give 3-5 per mod, yet they are $250-600. PCM's can yield 10-25 and with PCMforless its $139 give or take.

Its faster and doesn't require any shop time, like putting a new exhaust on would.

At least that's what I have gathered in my short time here.

Absolutely...you were the one I was looking at until I stumbled across the other one. I am an impatient person and would rather drive down and have it done than wait for something to be shipped

Now if it doesn't work out at least I know I have another solid option :)

They have a full shop with a dyno, located just outside of Mooresville.

Alvin, the owner, is an engineer, who knows what he is doing. Their facility, in an industrial park that contains some racing team operations, does a lot of tuning for the team people. I've seen a few "known named" cars there for tuning.

Your best bet would be to contact them directly and see if what they have to offer meets you desires.

BTW, some of the "numbers" posted fall under the realm of false advertising and ricer math....

The stock HHR intake is NOT restrictive!! I have documented proof that the CGS (for example) after many dyno pulls, will actually LOOSE HP, and that the stock exhaust is pretty efficient!

IOW, don't expect real gains from either exhaust or intake!! There have NEVER been creditible figures documented on either.

A GOOD tune will result in better response, better MPG, but little overall power gains over stock.

Them's the FACTS unless someone can prove otherwise!
