Recently Tuned my 06 HHR

I had a slight tuning adjustment made by my local Performance shop, and I'm happy with the results. I want to take the next step, and I need some advice on where to find parts/upgrades. I'm thinking intake, and exhaust for starters. All i've seen so far is catback systems. Is there something with a header available? Who makes the best air/intake system?

BTW, it's an 06 2LT HHR w/ 2.4 Ecotec and Auto trans.

Gibson Exhaust also makes a cat back system. There was a website that had the Aluminized version for under $500. I'll see if I can find it.

Here it is. Only $439.99!!

It really looks interesting. I would love to see where the air filter ends up. The picture of the tube is much shorter than the CGS. The theory looks great. I saw it advertised in several places, including JCWhitney. But the lowest price is the above link-129.99

May be worth replacing my CGS???

^^ looks like Weapon makes 2 types of intakes: Dragon and Secret Weapon. cheapest I've seen the Secret Weapon is around $180. here's a link to what it actually looks like...looks quite similar to the CGS:

It does look pretty identical except being chrome. What is the difference between the Dragon and the Secret Weapon? And what is this talk about increasing velocity, creating a vacuum, etc. Are there baffles inside the tube?

I think it's called creatinga "Venturi" or something. You have a larger mass of air around the outside, moving slower, and a smaller tighter mass of air moving much faster inside that one. It creates kind of a vaccuum of sorts sucking more air in. It's something we use in the fire service with water hoses and pumps to increase the flow. It should work!

I would highly recommend not buying a weapon R intake. They are well known for a cheap/poorly made product. I would stick with K&N , CGS , ETC
