An electric supercharger that REALLY worked would indeed rate as front page news, along with the perpetual motion machine, and politicians looking out for their constituents instead of themslves.

To make an electric supercharger work you'd need a 30+hp electric motor spinning it, an electric motor that size is as big as the engine in an HHR. They are nothing but gimmicks, modern day snake oil best left to the suckers and rubes taken in by the hype and shifty vendors on e-bay.
