Thinking about headers

Im working on modding my HHR and was wanting to put a exhaust on it then i got to thinking about the headers and was wondering if it would be worth it right now to get them or just get the exhaust and wait a few for the headers im not really looking for more power. Im just looking to change to sound of my 2.4 the power and milage will be good but sound is all im really looking for. Oh and does anybody have any suggestions for the exhaust.

If this is in the wrong catagory I apoligize tell me where to go and I will change my question there. Thx San

DAYMN!!! Nice score! I'm looking for one also, but wonder if it works with the Goldlines... Looks like clearance might be an issue with the rear drop and I love how they look!

More research to be had, I guess....

If your gonna go the header route I recommend gmpp honed manifold. Or for the aftermarket stuff cobalt-addiction.com is a good source of exhaust headers and downpipes at good prices.

Definitely the Magnaflow Cat-Back, I just put mine on about a week ago, definitely gives the HHR some attitude if you are concerned about sound mostly. It actually eliminated a rattle and a REALLY loud ticking i had on the stock exhaust when it was cooling off. So Bonus.

dynomax

i put dynomax super flow , straight thru muffler on my 08 2.4 auto , it was about $50....sounds good , not too loud , not ricey...small improvement on mpg...i really have no way to test performance , but i think it made a small increase.

Definitely check out css for exhaust combos and sound clips.

If you're only looking for sound though, there is only one choice for a header, but it's expensive and doesn't fit perfect.

Where might I find these sound clips? I do want a better sound on my mufflers, but I dont want a headache when I drive from the noise. Any ideas?
